Web Launcher · Explore the possibilities

Make your screen work for you.

Welcome visitors, promote your business or keep a dashboard in view. Bring your webpages, images and videos together in one display loop, on a tablet, commercial Android screen or an Android Box connected by HDMI.

Your content, together

Mix webpages, images and videos

Show a live dashboard, follow it with a promotional image, then play a welcome video. Arrange them in one playlist, or keep a single piece of content on screen. Start with the built-in welcome image and add your own content when you’re ready.

Use the webpages you already maintain: menus, schedules, product information and business dashboards. Add local JPEG, PNG or WebP images and compatible MP4 videos to bring your display to life.

Keep the flow smooth

The next item is prepared while the current content stays visible, reducing loading screens and black flashes between slides. Keep your message in view as you move from a webpage to an image or video. Results depend on your content, connection and display device.

Set the pace for your message

Give each webpage and image its own display time, starting at 30 seconds. Let a video play to the end or give it a timed slot. Choose video sound or silent playback, and fit your images and videos to the screen or crop them to fill it.

Update your display with confidence

Preview content, change the order, and turn individual items on or off before saving. Protect settings with an optional password to help prevent casual changes.

Imported images and videos stay on the display device and can play without an internet connection. Webpages use their own online or local-network connection. If an item cannot be shown, the player can skip it and try again later.

For Android displays and Android Box

The standard Web Launcher for Android app turns compatible tablets, commercial large screens and all-in-one Android displays into digital signage. Use it for shop promotions, digital menus, reception welcomes, showroom presentations, team dashboards, meetings and events.

Connect an Android Box to an existing screen

Run Web Launcher on a compatible Android Box and connect it by HDMI to a monitor, television or projector. The box runs the playlist; the connected screen shows your webpages, images and videos. Give an existing display a new role without replacing it with an Android screen.

Android Box devices running standard Android belong to this edition. A television or projector connected by HDMI does not determine which app edition you need. Choose the app for the Android system running on the box.

Set up the display your way

  • Portrait or landscape: follow the device orientation or choose the layout that suits your installation.
  • Edit on the device: add webpages, select media files, preview content and arrange the playlist. Touch-enabled screens support direct touch editing; for a box, confirm a suitable input method before installation.
  • Refresh your promotions: replace an image or video without rebuilding the whole playlist.
  • Use interactive webpages: on touch-enabled displays, visitors can explore suitable sites. Check your chosen site’s layout and navigation on the device.
  • Return to your usual desktop: use Exit app when you need to leave the display and open the original system home screen.

For Android TV and Google TV

Give a larger screen a clear purpose: welcome guests, show a menu, present your services or share team information.

  • The same mixed playlist: bring webpages, local images and videos together on a TV.
  • Made for the remote: edit and preview content, arrange slides, pause playback and move through videos from your seat.
  • Easy phone setup: scan a QR code to type webpage addresses and upload media using your phone’s browser.
  • Media stays on the TV: imported images and videos remain available when your phone disconnects.
  • One app for different setups: use it as a regular TV app or configure a supported device for dedicated display use.

The TV edition is specifically adapted for devices running Android TV or Google TV. Screen size and HDMI output alone do not make a device an Android TV device. Phone-browser setup is available in the TV edition.

Set up your TV from your phone

No companion app is needed. Connect your phone and TV to the same trusted local network, scan the TV’s QR code and approve the connection on the TV.

Use your phone to add links, upload pictures and videos, change slide timing and order, and preview your choices. Save when you’re ready to apply the playlist and resume playback on the TV.

The connection is temporary and stays on your local network. Your TV remains in control of access. Some guest or business networks prevent devices from connecting to each other; you can still use the TV remote to configure the display. Save your changes before closing the phone page.

Make it a dedicated display

Start after reboot. On supported devices, choose Web Launcher as the default Home app so your saved playlist can open when the device reaches its home screen after restart or unlock. Installation alone does not enable this, and some TV manufacturers restrict the choice of Home app.

Help keep visitors in the display. For public installations, an administrator can configure a compatible managed device to restrict ordinary users from leaving playback. This needs separate device-management authorization; a settings password or startup selection alone does not lock the device.

Return to your original desktop. Exit app in the standard Android edition, or Return to TV home in the TV edition, opens the installed system desktop. This retains your startup choice. Change that choice when you no longer want Web Launcher to act as the default Home app. Administrator restrictions may affect exit on a managed device.

Follow the Android display setup guide or the TV startup and exit guide for the steps that apply to your screen.

Languages and purchase

Use Web Launcher in English, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian or Arabic. English is the default. The TV’s display-device setup wizard is currently available in English and Simplified Chinese, with English shown for its new options in other languages.

No Web Launcher account, ads or subscription is required. Playlists and imported media stay on your device. The standard Android and Android TV editions are purchased separately; buying one does not unlock the other. Websites you display may have their own sign-in or subscription requirements.

Before you choose your screen

Web Launcher is a simple way to run content on an individual display. If you need central control of many locations, scheduled campaigns or audience reports, it does not include those services.

Choose a compatible Android device with access to the app on Google Play, and try your actual webpages, media and input controls before setting up an unattended display. For an Android Box, check the Android system it runs and the output to your connected screen. Website sign-in, video support, sleep settings and startup behavior vary by device. Offline playback applies to imported media; it does not make websites available offline.
