Privacy Policy

Scope and contact

This policy applies to Web Launcher TV for Android TV and Google TV, package com.zediot.kiosk.tv, distributed on Google Play by GrusIoT (上海天鹤物联网有限公司) under the NgSense product brand. Information handled on your TV

The app stores your playlist, configured webpage addresses, display options, imported image/video files and file metadata in its private storage on the TV. If you set a settings password, a password hash is stored locally. The app does not send these settings, passwords, files or the contents of displayed webpages to NgSense servers. It does not include advertising or analytics SDKs or create an app account.

Webpages and third parties

When you choose a webpage, Android WebView connects to that website and its resources. Those providers can receive your IP address and browser/device information, and may use cookies or local storage according to their own policies. WebView data may remain on the TV between sessions. Review the policies of sites you configure and avoid showing private content on public displays. The app does not grant webpages access to camera or microphone. Network errors may produce local Android diagnostic logs containing a website hostname or error code; the app does not upload those logs to NgSense.

Phone setup on your local network

Phone QR setup starts a temporary HTTPS editor on the TV’s local network address. It is available only while phone pairing is open, not as a public cloud service. Your phone and TV must be on the same trusted network. Pairing requires the TV’s invitation or manual key and approval on the TV. The TV displays its certificate fingerprint for verification. The app uses a locally generated certificate; a browser may show a certificate warning.

The phone can read the playlist and preview media, edit settings and upload files after approval. Data travels directly between the phone and TV, not through NgSense servers. Pairing keys and session authorization are held temporarily; access expires automatically, and closing phone pairing on the TV revokes it. A paired browser uses a session cookie and holds unsaved edits in the page. Anyone you approve has access to the displayed configuration and media during that session.

Storage, retention and deletion

Saved configuration and imported media remain until you change them, clear the app’s storage in Android settings or uninstall the app. Uploaded files that have not been saved, and media no longer referenced by the saved playlist, are removed during editor cleanup. Removing a playlist item does not delete the original file from your phone or other source. To remove stored WebView cookies and all app data, clear the app’s storage or uninstall it; leaving the playback screen alone does not clear this data. Automatic cloud backup and device transfer of the app’s private data are disabled by the app’s configuration; device manufacturers and operating-system services have their own policies.

Purchases, support and children

Google Play processes app purchases and payment details under Google’s policies. The app does not collect payment-card information. If you email support, we receive the information you choose to send and use it to handle that request; do not send passwords, pairing keys or private display content. You can ask us to delete support correspondence, subject to records we need to keep for legal or service obligations. The app is intended for configuring information displays and is not designed specifically for children.

Changes

We may update this policy when features or data practices change. The effective date identifies the version. The policy is readable offline in the app; the matching website location is https://ngsense.com/privacy/web-launcher-tv/.
